Ágora is a cultural project that takes place at Leiria Castle over three weekends, presenting a programme of music, performing arts and art installations, and encouraging enjoyment and reflection on (im)material heritage.  Each weekend, stories and tales take on various forms and occupy various spaces in the Castle, with proposals from different geographies and sensibilities, where, by sharing the present, new paths for tomorrow are pointed out.

Each stone tells a story, each wall has a horizon, each sound has a silence. Step by step and stone by stone, we create a bridge between the past and the present, basing artistic practices on critical and creative thinking, enabling mechanisms for listening and providing diverse perspectives for civic and active participation. 

We embrace culture as a vehicle to bring everyone's participation and opinion to the highest point in Leiria, the Castle. If history created the Agora on the Acropolis, let culture remind us of what we were and show us what we can be now.
